Job Summary Our client is seeking a skilled In-House Legal Counsel to provide expert legal guidance within the financial services and payment industry. The successful candidate will ensure compliance, mitigate legal risks, and manage corporate legal responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice on financial services and payment industry operations, interpreting and applying relevant laws and regulations.
Handle and oversee litigation cases, collaborate with external counsel, and develop strategies for dispute resolution.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents, ensuring adherence to corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
Manage legal aspects of corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement compliance programs.
Identify legal risks and design mitigation strategies; provide training and guidance on compliance.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, external counsel, and business partners to address legal matters.
Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation and records.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of financial services and payment sector laws and regulations.
Expertise in litigation and corporate legal matters.
Proficient in legal research, analysis, and documentation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably in financial services or payment industry.
Proven experience handling litigation and corporate legal affairs.
High integrity, ethical standards, and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
