Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician and Instrumentation Engineer with extensive experience in oil and gas operations. This role supports both onshore and offshore teams by optimizing production processes, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and maintaining robust instrumentation and flow measurement systems. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with innovation and a proactive approach to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production and instrumentation engineering guidance to onshore and offshore teams, offering insights on production strategies and conducting optimization analyses.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, F&G mapping, and Safety Case reviews.
- Regularly assess flow measurement performance to optimize production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Assist onshore and offshore personnel in calibrating and adjusting flow measurement and instrumentation systems.
- Conduct on-site inspections and equipment testing to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to collect production-related data and insights.
- Contribute to the Management of Change process and align its implementation across Business Units when possible.
- Support the preparation and execution of short- and medium-term facility plans with facility teams.
- Plan technical activities and manage facility maintenance related to instrumentation and metering systems.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and currency while encouraging innovative approaches in developing and applying measurement technologies.
Technical Expertise - Strong knowledge of oil and gas production processes, instrumentation, and flow measurement systems.
- Proficient in calibration, adjustment, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and metering equipment.
- Experience with safety reviews including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL assessments, and F&G mapping.
- Skilled in technical documentation and performance analysis of measurement systems.
- Familiar with Management of Change (MOC) processes and regulatory compliance in oil and gas operations.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
- Self-driven with strong learning agility.
- Proficient in computer applications and engineering tools.
